A Little About Lorna Kettleboough

Lorna started teaching in 1992 after completing her Degree in Mathematics and Education at Loughborough University. Initially teaching in a 14-19 college in Leicester she quickly became Head of Mathematics at King Edward VI Spilsby. Lorna has always had an interest in special educational needs and her next move was to be come the Mathematics coordinator at St Hugh's special school in Scunthorpe, which at the time catered for children aged 5-16 with Moderated to Severe Learning difficulties including ASD.
In 2001 Lorna married her husband John and this brought her back to working closer to home and she took up post at The Lindsey School firstly as KS3 coordinator and then as Deputy Head of Mathematics.
Lorna and John started a family and Lorna then took a career break. 
After a short period of supply teaching and a part-time contract at Humberston School, Lorna accepted a full-time post at Phoenix House PRU initially as a science teacher, whilst their she developed a highly successful Nurture provision, and eventually became the KS-3 coordinator and in charge of day to day running of the KS-3/2 site. Due to the pressure of working full-time and raising a family consisting of 2 children and an adult on the autistic spectrum Lorna resigned from her post in 2014.
Lorna has 3 children at home 2 with ASD, and also helps support her stepson 23 recently diagnosed ASD along with learning difficulties and her nephew 20 who also has an ASD and other learning difficulties.
